11TH November @ Square Tower, Portsmouth
“Entertainers. Visionaries. Songsmiths, alternative bands, poets. Gut-wrenching to gothic, introspective to extrovert. Monster folk, music hall. Low-fi, pop & chanson, from the ethereal to the melodramatic. Sinuous songwriting from Pompey’s crazy creatives:
I’m extremely excited to have been asked back to play Dark Songs this year.
Part of Portsmouth Darkfest, this is the event’s third year and it continues to grow in size and popularity. A testament to the organisational & musical skills of compere William G. Sutton, Dark Songs features a range of talented musicians performing their most macabre and heart wrenching numbers for your listening pleasure. Last year, I performed songs from my previous EP: Fear No Faerie Voices, and was delighted to share the stage with long-time friend, prodigious musical talent, Irish songwriter Edelle McMahon. Edelle will be back this year, hot off the release of her new album Adventures in Narcissism.
This year promises to be an even more lavish event, with added musical talent and some exciting collaborations. The Square Tower is such a beautiful venue. I love the acoustics and gorgeous natural reverb. There’ll be a small bar, and usually some snacks on offer. Check out a short promo video for the event: . Get your tickets here. Don’t forget to check the Supernatural Cities website – the official home of Darkfest celebrations.
See you at Dark Songs III !
